From time to time, Google make changes to their search engine, to improve the quality of their results.
On April 21 2015, they made a significant change so that websites deemed “mobile-friendly” rank higher in search results. They did this so that users searching on mobile devices get back pages which are usable and legible. In fact, to quote Google directly:-
…pages designed for only large screens may see a significant decrease in rankings in mobile search results.
Since more people now browse websites from mobile devices than from desktops and laptops, this is extremely important.
How do I Find Out?
So how do you know if your website is considered to be mobile-friendly or not? Well Google have released a special tool which will analyse a website and report back its findings. Click the button below to access it.
